SVGA and XGA Projectors

Game Show Presenter presentation software really grabs attention and holds it when you use a multimedia projector to display the show. The software supports the two most common projector resolutions -- XGA and SVGA. (What's the difference? Read here.)

While we do not sell or recommend specific projectors, we have collected the following resources to help you select the right projector for your game show or Jeopardy-style presentation. (And if you need software to make the presentation a hit, here is a summary of our quiz software.

Projector FAQ:

What projectors work with Game Show Presenter software? There are two common resolutions that projectors use and Game Show Presenter supports them both! The older standard is SVGA, with offers a display that is 800 x 600 pixels. Because it is not the latest standard, expect SVGA projectors to be lower cost, but not quite as sharp. The second common standard is XGA, which displays 1024 x 768 pixels. These may cost a bit more, but generally offer a sharper picture. See the resources above for specific products and reviews to find what's good for your needs and budget.

How do I set the resolution to fill the whole screen? Your hardware and software need to be using the same settings. Find out what is the native display resolution of your projector. (Usually either XGA or SVGA, as noted in question above.) Then make sure your computer monitor has that setting, too. (On Windows, right-click the desktop and choose PROPERTIES > SETTINGS. In Game Show Presenter software, go to the PREFERENCES menu at the top of the screen and choose either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. If you set it to 1024, the screen may not enlarge until you actually start the game show.
