Here's a really neat prop that allows you to insert items into it, only to withdraw
different objects. Perfect for gaining and holding attention while addressing a variety of topic concepts (e.g.
change, creativity, dealing with the unknown, delivering the unexpected to customers, etc). Comes with instructions.
The trick to this prop is that there is a hidden compartment inside which can be used to hide an item which mirrors another that you show your learners. For example, create a list of learning objectives on a flip
charts and then fold the list and stash it in the secret compartment. Next, create an identical list to the first, but cut each objective into a strip of paper. Fold these strips and place them on a table or in a glass bowl where
everyone can see them. When ready to cover objectives in your session, ask for volunteer to come up and pick one of the strips and read it to the group. Discuss how the objective will be addressed and ask the volunteer to fold and
place the strip into the bag (in the second compartment). Continue until all objectives have been reviewed, then say, "Now that we know the objectives for the session, let's take one more quick look and post them on the wall
for referral throughout the session." As you say this, withdraw the complete flip chart page from the bags hidden compartment, unfold and tape it to the wall. Learners will be amazed as to how you re-assembled the sheet. |
